What is ARA-290 (Cibinetide)

ARA-290 (cibinetide) is an 11-amino-acid peptide derived from the helix B structure of erythropoietin, designed to activate the innate tissue repair receptor (the EPOR/CD131 heterocomplex) without the hematopoietic or thrombotic effects of EPO. It promotes anti-inflammatory, cytoprotective action and regeneration of small nerve fibers. It has been evaluated in clinical trials for sarcoidosis-related neuropathy and neuropathic pain, with improvements in symptoms and nerve fiber density.
