What is BAM15
BAM15 is a selective mitochondrial uncoupler that dissipates the proton gradient across the inner mitochondrial membrane, increasing energy expenditure and fat burning without depolarizing the plasma membrane. In preclinical studies, it reduced fat mass and improved insulin sensitivity in mice without reducing food intake, offering a wider safety profile than older uncouplers such as DNP. It has no clinical data in humans.
