What is PT-141 (Bremelanotide)
PT-141 (bremelanotide) is a cyclic analog of alpha-MSH that activates central melanocortin receptors (primarily MC4R), acting on neural pathways of sexual desire rather than on vascular blood flow. It was approved by the FDA in 2019 (Vyleesi) for hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in premenopausal women. It differs from PDE5 inhibitors by acting on the central nervous system.

Contraindications
